Rice Vermicelli Recipes – Masala Vermicelli :

Masala vermicelli is very easy to prepare at breakfast for your kids.

Ingredients :

Masala Vermicelli2 cups rice vermicelli or semiya
2 to 3 tsp. cooking oil or groundnuts oil
1 large size finely chopped onion
2 tsp. peanuts
1/4 cup green peas
1/2 carrot (cut into small french fries shapes)
3 to 4 green chillies (chopped)
8 to 10 nos curry leaves
fresh coriander leaves (finely chopped)
1/4 tsp. mustard seeds
1/4 tsp. cumin seeds
1 dash. Asafoetida powder
1/2 tsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. Pure Ghee
water (As required)
salt to taste

Method for Preparation :

  • First of all take a 1 tsp. pure ghee and fry the rice vermicelli or semiya until it becomes slightly brown in color and then remove it in a plate and keep it aside.
  • Heat the cooking oil or groundnuts oil in to a or vessel over a medium high heat.
  • Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves, green chillies, asafoetida, carrot and peanuts in to frying pan or vessel and when the mustard seeds starts spluttering then add the chopped onion in to pan and fry it until it becomes translucent and golden brown in color.
  • Then add lightly fried rice vermicelli or semiya in a pure ghee and fry it over medium-low heat for 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Then you need to add green peas, lemon juice and salt, Mix well.
  • Finally add the normal water and stir well the rice vermicelli and cover the lid and cook for another 8 to 10 minutes over low heat.
  • Once it cooked properly then turn off the heat.
  • Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves & roasted cashew nuts and it’s ready to serve hot.
